Works as an experienced Design Engineer in product or technology program in SW/HW/System Design/Design Verification or Integration and/or testing.

Main Responsibility Area
Responsible for User Interface configuration for Nokia's S40 and S60 UMTS Products. This includes code integration with global releases, strong comunication with other Nokia sites, planning workload activities, error tracking and resolution, multitasking, and requirement handling.
Has developed specialist knowledge in one area. Coaches other team members in solving engineering problems. Solves complex engineering problems of own technology area. Typically participates in reviews of own or neighbouring projects. May undertake technical training responsibilities.

Scope
Individual Contributor - Variety of complex tasks within area of responsibility, Demonstrates initiative & contributes to problem solving. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters. Makes decisions that affect own work. - Managerial/Supervisory - May act as Team Leader or Project Leader with some direct supervisory responsibilities in addition to own work assignments. Requirements:

Typically 4-6 years relevant experience, fully competent. Uses functionally specific knowledge. Degree.

Performs day-to-day activates to meet departmental/project objectives. Requires immoderate supervision. Applies commonly recognised concepts within their field of expertise. Shares knowledge with less experienced peers or have high collegial interaction. Raises innovative ideas.
The Finnish phone giant, Nokia which holds 40% of the total worldwide wireless phone market, has been able to avoid the economic fallout from the bust of the mortgage boom in Europe largely by pedaling lower-priced phones in hot new wireless markets. Nokia posted a second-quarter profit of $1.75 billion. The adjusted second quarter profit was 58 cents per share, up from 43 cents a year ago and above the 56 cents analysts were expecting. Sales were $20.7 billion, up from $16.9 billion in the year-ago quarter and better than the $20 billion Wall Street expected. The company sold 122 million phones in the second quarter for an average price of $117 each
