Accountabilities:

Your job profile will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for O&M of Siemens supplied N.E.
  • Supervise the daily, weekly and monthly routine maintenance.
  • Supervise and support subordinates in their work.
  • Provide technical guidance to subordinate.
  • Check the second level debugging message's like Plausibility check failure and Audit error.
  • Check each day last 24 hour's abnormality in Siemens
  • N.E as well as other associated N.E.
  • Analyse the abnormality and apply the appropriate corrective maintenance.
  • Randomly supervise the circuit on all trunk group
  • And apply the appropriate corrective maintenance.
  • Support the Call out technician after duty time in case second level maintenance.
  • Watch the randomly traffic load of Siemens N.E.
  • Ensure maximum reliability of the switching system.
  • Generate monthly reports of Siemens N.E activities.
  • Participate with the Vendor for installation, testing and commissioning of new and existing N.E.
  • Supervise the Patch implementation and expansion of N.E.
  • Participate any activities related to project implementation when needed.
  • Coordinate technical problems with vendor’s local support.
  • Co-ordination with Qtel’s departments for problem resolution, such as transmission department.
  • Maintain the spare card availability.
  • Ensure that ISO procedures are being followed.
  • Technical capabilities to restore the complete system in case of major failure of Siemens N.E.
  • Preparing the annual preventive maintenance plan & monitor its progress on monthly basis.
  • Attending & troubleshooting major faults & ensuring such faults are being rectified in best effort manner.
  • Ensure that all network health reports or observations generated by OMC-S or Quality team are being implemented & cleared in the best effort practice.
  • Follow the subscriber complain received by NMC-S.
  • Keep updated daily record of cleared & un-cleared fault dockets in co-ordination with OMC-S
  • Supervise, check and monitor SS7 trace's.
  • Co-ordinate for the roaming data correction in the Siemens N.E. after request by roaming section.
  • Monitoring the SS7 trace's for International roaming.
  • Ensuring all the activity logs and observation are saved in to the storage device.
Preferred Background:
  • Diploma in Electronics & Communications Engineering or Equivalent Qualifications
Experience & Skills:

The ideal applicant should have:

  • 3 years of experience in the GSM NSS system.
  • Training on Siemens NSS(Power CP,SSNC,SCP and Switch Commander) system.
  • Experience in GSM switching Network.
  • Good Knowledge of C7 signalling i.e.: ISUP, SCCP, MAP, DTAP, IN, TCAP, SMS and BSSAP.
  • Knowledge about data networks, VMS, UNIX, and PC skills.
  • Knowledge in computers related applications: MS word, MS excel, MS Power point etc.
